Welcome to Florence !

Uffizi Gallery Florence

Florence represents an essential destination for any tourist and any traveller. The history of the city is fascinating. It was born before the birth of the Roman empire, and in the Middle Ages and in the Renaissance Florence has become one of the most greater economic artistic and philosophical capitals of the world. Despite the history has seen alternate moments of ascent and periods of decline, Florence has maintained intact its royalty in the beauty of its monuments, in the oneness of its alleys and in the wealth of its artistic works. Walking along the streets in Florence, means to cross the same footsteps of characters as Dante or Lorenzo il Magnifico, and in more than a case, to see the same foreshortenings of buildings and casetorri, the embroideries painted by the white marble of the churches on the blue sky or to hear the same ringing that from centuries it accompanies the hours from the tower bell and from the numerous churches of the city center. The overcrowding of tourists of certain seasons and the assault of the sellers, can disturb sometimes the traveller that would desire to enjoy himself in peace so much beauty. We have also to admit that not always the administrations and the public services, with their decisions, don’t encourage the visit of the city (it is dissuaded to reach the historical center by car and once reached the feet will be always and however the fastest and economic mean to move.) The greatest lack in the city of Florence, in comparison to the modern standards, it’s represented by the architectural barriers. Although buildings and museums have obviated to this problem with ramps and elevators (where possible) the conformation of the city and the little attention of the modern administration, make complicated for those people with handicap (the same is worth for those people who travel with small children and baby carriage). The uneasiness are intensified then by the little cleaning of the roads and by the little criminality.
